Tell us about yourself and your family

I am 26 years old, and originally grew up in South East London. I moved to Weston-super-Mare when I was 10 years old with my Mum and my older sister. My Nan followed us to Weston shortly afterwards as after visiting us here a few times, I think she liked the South West more than the ‘big city’! The rest of my family are quite wide spread around all four corners of the UK.

What attracted you to Estate Agency?

Sales was always something that interested me and having studied at College in subjects that were all pretty random I decided to get some work experience before deciding to go on to University, or not. Having no really clear aim of what I wanted to be, I didn’t want to commit to a subject and then find that it wasn’t transferrable to what I wanted to do (once I had actually worked that out!). Six years down the road from my original initial work experience, I am qualified as both a Sales and a Lettings Negotiator and have recently been promoted to a Sales Manager role, and I absolutely love my job.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Sports. And anything competitive. You know that guy that you dread playing Monopoly with, because they take it far too seriously and purposely buy property that another player is trying to collect? That’s me! I have also watched and played football all my life. Due to growing up in South East London unfortunately for me I am a West Ham fan. Typically, I can turn my hand to most sports and am reasonable at them, but I think the phrase ‘Jack of all trades, master of none’ would sum up my sporting ability pretty accurately!

Who is your role model? Why?

Probably Joe Cole ex West Ham, Chelsea, Liverpool and England player. When I was young, I used to attend a lot of West Ham games, some of which were under 21’s games. Joe Cole was just one of many outstanding players that came through our once very good Youth Academy. He was a similar type of player to me, played a similar position and so I suppose I idolised him from a young age. He wasn’t always praised or noticed as the best player, but if you watched him closely during a game he was often to many of the goals that other players scored.

Tell us something about yourself that’s not on your CV…

I am probably old before my time. I would rather go out for something to eat than go “clubbing” with my friends. I would choose a country pub, or a pub with a pool table over a loud, busy bar. Oddly enough, I like antiques and interesting pieces of furniture too. I also watch programmes like “American Pickers”. Maybe that’s why I am turning into a bit of a hoarder?!

Thank you for this Joe!

Next up is Dan Walker - One of our fantastic Sales Negotiators
